We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Line Cook to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced chefs to prepare exceptional dishes that meet our customers' high expectations. You'll be responsible for setting up menu stations and stocking supplies, as well as preparing and cooking food to our exact specifications. As an integral member of our kitchen team, your contributions will play a key role in achieving our company's goals and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Preparing food for service using various cooking methods and techniques
  • Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and cooked to our high standards
  • Following instructions from the manager or assistant manager to ensure smooth operations
  • Keeping the station clean and ensuring that leftover food is properly handled
  • Maintaining inventory levels and stock appropriately
  • Ensuring that food is served simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Adhering to nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintaining a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers

Skills and requirements:

  • Proven cooking experience or desire to learn
  • Experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook is considered an asset
  • A basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
  • The ability to execute assigned tasks with accuracy and speed

We offer both full-time and part-time positions.

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our customers have a memorable dining experience by taking food and drink orders accurately, maintaining a positive attitude, and delivering exceptional customer service. As an integral part of our team, you'll work alongside bussers, cooks, and other staff members in a fast-paced environment to ensure that tables are served properly and payments are collected promptly.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Taking food and drink orders accurately and with a positive attitude
  • Entering orders into the POS system for transmission to kitchen staff or writing patrons' food orders on order slips or memorizing orders
  • Engaging with customers in a friendly manner and providing knowledgeable recommendations from the menu
  • Ensuring that tables are enjoying their meals and taking action to correct any problems that arise
  • Collecting payments from tables and preparing checks that itemize total meal costs and sales taxes
  • Helping food preparation staff when necessary

Looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity in event coordination? Meatings Barbecue Inc is seeking an exceptional Event Coordinator to join our team! As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high standards of service while coordinating catering activities among staff to ensure consistent, high-quality production and service. In partnership with the Catering Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of catering services, including food and equipment preparation, delivery logistics, staff management, and event service, all while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, customer service, and overall experience are met.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all event operational requirements, including rental logistics and confirmation
  • Organize event timelines and manage all aspects of event planning, from establishing SOPs to training event staff, to ensure all events run smoothly and efficiently
  • Work with the customer to determine their specific needs, liaise with vendors and suppliers, and ensure all rental supplies are delivered on time
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal staff to establish specific event needs and requirements
  • Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including venue preparation, transportation, equipment, food delivery, etc.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and our catering department, leading pre-event meetings when necessary to inform staff on the flow of service and
    event requirements
  • Oversee client experiences from conception through post-event, managing on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown, ensuring consistent,
    high-level service throughout all phases
  • Communicate directly with the customer throughout the event planning process to learn requirements and goals, and ensure all parties understand relevant
    information and details
  • Monitor and oversee events from preparation and set-up through teardown to ensure adherence to planned format, compliance with regulations, cooperation between vendors, resolution of issues, and overall satisfaction of participants and sponsors
  • Perform post-event tasks promptly such as meeting with clients to ensure satisfaction, reviewing invoices and bills, approving payments, and documenting
    issues and resolutions
  • Assist executive-level management as needed and when needed

Skills/Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven supervisory or management experience
  • Food and beverage experience, and knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Business management skills and time management skills are an asset
  • The ability to think on your feet and take initiative, work well in a team environment, and lead and motivate staff
  • A well-organized approach to working with administrative and IT literacy, and numeracy and financial skills in order to manage a budget
  • An appreciation of customer expectations and commercial demands, stamina to work long hours when needed, ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and the ability to solve problems in a high-pressure environment
  • Desire and ability to provide a positive customer experience and enhance the Meatings brand
  • Smart Serve and FoodSafe required, Drivers License Required

Flow of Information

  • Initial contact with client to discuss food will be handled by our Catering Manager
  • Menu Design / Schedule will be determined by Catering Manager
  • Pass-Off to Coordinator to determine extras (Linens, plates, chairs, etc)
  • Invoice generated and sent to client, coordinators job to collect the deposit
  • Coordinators to organize equipment and rentals
  • Coordinators will be assigned by Catering Manager when needed
  • Coordinators will be assigned a team lead when coordinators are not on site.
  • Coordinators are responsible for introducing point of contact (team lead) to customer to handle all inquiries during the event
  • Thursday to meet with team leads
  • Friday to contact with suppliers to ensure everything is on site (double check)
  • Saturday / Sunday at Events as needed
  • On-site checklist to be provided by the catering manager (coordinator will have a work flow while on site as a team lead)
  • Coordinators are responsible for building out on site information handbooks for team leads
  • Team leads either the FOH person or kitchen staff (Team lead to manage rest of staff while on site)
  • Coordinators not to be on site as the brides chaperone
  • Part-time coordinator to help with the access files
  • Algonquin event planning to reach out
  • Coordinators to ensure clients are satisfied with service and quality during the event
  • Coordinators to follow up with client after the events
  • No one is above anything, Management will determine the job tasks
